Manow provoziert zudem mit der These, dass die rechten Parteien Europas sich ökonomisch nach links bewegen. Des Weiteren sprechen wir über rechte und linke Architektur, über die Aktualität von Marx‘ Werttheorie, über NGOs im Kapitalismus sowie das Staatsverständnis der Querdenker.

Diese Frage stellt sich der Politikwissenschaftler Dirk Jörke in seinem Buch „Die Größe der Demokratie“. Die Sozialdemokratie und der Nationalstaat, so lautet eine seiner Thesen, gehören zusammen, während supranationale Strukturen eine solche Politik geradezu verunmöglichen.
Zudem müsse man erkennen, dass Liberalismus und Demokratie keineswegs zusammengehen müssen, ja, in entscheidenden Bereichen widersprechen sie sich. Der Liberalismus will eigentlich weniger Demokratie wagen. Gegenwärtig wird häufig über die Vor- und Nachtteile von liberalen Demokratien mit ihren Institutionen, die sich vor dem Wählerwillen abdichten, diskutiert. Manche sprechen sogar schon von einem Postliberalismus, in dem auch die elektorale Demokratie zu neuem Glanz gelangt.

Ein Einführungsvortrag in IPv6, warum es besser ist als IPv4 und warum ihr euch davor nicht fürchten müsst.

IPv6 ist schon seit fast dreißig Jahren der Stand der Technik, was Protokolle in der Netzwerkschicht angeht. Die Adoption zieht aber erst seit zehn Jahren an, und sehr viele interne Netzwerke nutzen kaum oder nie IPv6. Das möchte ich mit diesem Vortrag ändern, indem ich euch die Angst vor IPv6 und seiner vermeintlichen Komplexität nehme, und euch aufzeige, welche Vorteile und Vereinfachungen dieses weiterentwickelte Internetprotokoll bietet. Auch wenn ihr nicht Netzwerkadministratys seid, wolltet ihr doch sicher schon einmal ein paar Details über dieses wichtige Protokoll lernen :)

Warum wir Redakteur:innen euch ständig nerven. Was Doku überhaupt ist. Weshalb sie wichtig ist. Und wie ihr euch (und uns) das Leben leichter machen könnt.

"Die Doku machen wir im nächsten Sprint, oder in dem danach, ach ne, da müssen wir ein paar Bugs fixen. Aber wir machen die noch. Hat ganz hohe Prio."
Und wieder ist das einzige Teammitglied, das beim Thema Doku sprintet, ein:e Redakteur:in: Den Informationen hinterher, den Projektleiterinnen, den Entwicklern, der Deadline und zur Kaffeemaschine.

Aber was ist das denn überhaupt - "Doku"? Welche Arten von Dokumentation gibt es? Wann ist welche relevant? Wofür braucht es den Redakteur und was kann eine Entwicklerin, PL oder PO beisteuern? Und gibts da nicht auch was mit KI?

Ich will versuchen, euch diese Fragen zu beantworten und ein bisschen Brücken bauen zwischen Entwicklung und Redaktion. Damit wir es am Ende alle ein bisschen leichter haben und öfter mal gemeinsam einen Kaffee trinken, statt uns übereinander aufzuregen.

Ich habe einen Service gebaut, der euch Backup-Storage zur Verfügung stellt, damit ihr euch nicht mehr drum kümmern müsst.

Viele Leute prokrastinieren beim Thema Backups, weil Mensch möchte das ja richtig machen, auf eigener Hardware, nicht bei $Cloud, sauber automatisiert, oder was auch immer die aktuellen Gründe sind. Oftmals liegt es ja nicht mal am persönlichen Skillset, sondern einfach nur am machen.

Ich habe mit Hardware, die gerade eh rumlag einfach einen Dienst gebaut, in dem ihr euch einfach selbst ein Backup-Repo (in dem Fall mit [BorgBackup](https://www.borgbackup.org/)) klicken könnt und euch nur noch damit befassen müsst, was ihr sichern wollt.

In diesem Vortrag will ich das Projekt vorstellen und euch zeigen, wie ihr schnell eure Backups einrichten könnt.

We found actual Yarbo owners exactly where a security researcher told us they would be, and one of them let us demo the entire hack live.

Vor allem Wirtschaftsliberale machen sich heute für Patente stark, doch das war keineswegs immer so. Die Idee des geistigen Eigentums kam im Europa des 16. und 17. Jahrhunderts auf, aber erst im 19. Jahrhundert wurde das Patentrecht immer einheitlicher auf nationalstaatlicher Ebene durchgesetzt.
Jedoch passierte dies keineswegs in allen Staaten – in der Schweiz etwa scheiterten mehrere Anläufe. Damals waren gerade wirtschaftsliberale Stimmen laut zu vernehmen, die vor dem Patentrecht warnten, da dieses nichts anderes als Monopole absichere. Diese jedoch, so die Argumentation, bremsen den allgemeinen wirtschaftlichen und gesellschaftlichen Fortschritt und dienen lediglich den Partikularinteressen der Erfinder
Schaut man sich die liberale Argumentation des 19. Jahrhunderts an, muss man feststellen: Nur noch linke Kapitalismuskritiker trauen sich heute so weit zu gehen. Mehr dazu von Ole Nymoen und Wolfgang M. Schmitt in der neuen Folge von „Wohlstand für Alle“!

First electric taxi flies from JFK Airport to Manhattan

Author: The Verge - Bewertung: 15x - Views:121 Joby Aviation's electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft flew from JFK Airport to Manhattan in a demonstration of the company's future air taxi route. Joby says its air taxis are quieter than helicopters, and because they’re electric, they produce zero emissions. A Joby official described the noise profile as “like leaves in the wind” — but you wouldn’t know it, thanks to a helicopter hovering overhead during the takeoff. The goal is to connect Manhattan to JFK Airport in under 10 minutes, rather than an hourlong car trip.

Joby is still waiting for clearance from the FAA before it can start carrying passengers. But the company is eager to demonstrate that its technology is more than just vaporware. Notably, Joby’s first passenger service actually won’t be in the US at all. Later this year, the company plans on launching its first passenger-approved air taxis in Dubai, in collaboration with the local authorities, who have proven to be less cautious about giving their approval than their counterparts in the US.
